Who we are

TroostKCmo is more than a street it’s a living canvas of history, community, and transformation. Anchored in the heart of Kansas City, Troost Avenue has long carried deep symbolism a line drawn by historic inequities, now being reimagined by new energy, bold visions, and grassroots change. Our vision is to curate a collective of Black Brave Spaces along the Troost Corridor. Black Brave Space is a dedicated environment where individuals, especially Black queer voices, can gather, express ourselves freely, and cultivate strength, resilience, and healing

As the political climate changes, fears of anti-black, homophobic, and transphobic hate exacerbate the isolation of an already marginalized demographic. It's more important than ever that black queer and trans folks in our community know that there are places where we are not only safe and embraced but can feel brave and empowered to show up fully and authentically as ourselves.
